A season roughly every six months. Seasonal characters are wiped for everyone at the same time; permanent characters stay. Battlestate announces the date shortly before the start. The next season is expected around December 2026 (a tracker estimate).

Escape from Tarkov is a hardcore extraction shooter from Battlestate Games. You head into a raid with your gear, grab loot and have to get off the map alive. Otherwise everything you carried is gone. The game is paid, available through its own launcher and on Steam. Before release, Tarkov's life was divided by wipes: every six months, progress, stash and money were erased for everyone. With the 1.0 launch on November 15, 2025, the system changed. Now each player has a permanent character that never resets, plus a seasonal one that is wiped along with everyone else at the start of each season. A seasonal start is the old “wipe”: everyone begins from zero, and the first week decides who levels up their traders fastest. The current season is “Kord Breach”. Battlestate hasn't announced its end or a date for season two. Trackers expect the season change around December 7, 2026, but that's an estimate.
