A season roughly every 3 months, most often on Tuesdays. Blizzard announces the start time 1–2 weeks ahead. After S15 (Sept 15, 2026), the next season is expected in December.

Diablo IV is an action RPG from Blizzard Entertainment set in the open world of Sanctuary. It's buy-to-play, with an in-game cosmetics shop and a battle pass. The Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred expansions have been released for the base game. Seasons set the game's main rhythm. Roughly every three months a seasonal realm opens with its own mechanic, and to get in you create a character from scratch. Older heroes stay in the Eternal realm. In the first day of a season players compete for early progress, and streamers race for the first boss kills. The current season is Season 15, "Season of Hell's Legacy", which started on September 15, 2026, with patch 3.2.1. Its mechanic is Prime Evil shards: a character wears a shard of Diablo, Baal or Mephisto and gains its power. Blizzard hasn't announced the next season yet; going by the rhythm, expect it in December.
