About Diablo III
Diablo III is a 2012 action RPG from Blizzard Entertainment with the Reaper of Souls expansion. The game is buy-to-play and hasn't received major updates in years, but its seasons still run, and a sizable part of the old audience comes back for every start. A season lasts around three months. You create a fresh character for it, each season has its own theme, a "Seasonal Journey" with rewards, and Greater Rift leaderboards. When a season ends, heroes move to non-seasonal mode. Season 40, "Light's Calling", starts on Friday, October 2, 2026. Blizzard opens each region at 5:00 PM local time. The previous season, 39, ends on September 27.
